County Woman of the Year awards nominations now being accepted

    The Baltimore County Commission for Women is accepting nominations for its annual Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year awards.
    Female county residents who have made significant, unique and lasting contributions to the community, workplace or school to further the interests of women and families are eligible for the Woman of the Year Award. Previous winners and elected officials are not eligible for nomination.
    Nominees for the Young Woman of the Year award must be high school seniors in Baltimore County who have made community contributions that further the interests of county women and families.
    This is the 31st year the commission has honored women for their outstanding contributions to the community. Irene Spatafore of Dundalk won the 2012 Woman of the Year award.
    The program, which includes Women Making a Difference awards along with the Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the year, has previously honored Dundalkians including Judy Boggs, Marge Capecci, Carla Crisp, Nancy Dietrich, Kiranjit Kaur and Alice Mason.

    The nomination deadline is Friday, Jan. 11. Honorees will be notified after Jan. 18. The awards will be presented in March 2013.
