The Baltimore County Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle which fled the scene after sideswiping a school bus on Wise Avenue next to the North Point Government Center on Dec. 19 at 1:24 p.m. According to witnesses, a silver 2000 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Wise Avenue when it swerved to avoid another vehicle which pulled out in front of it from a parking lot. The Toyota drove into the eastbound lane of Wise Avenue, where it struck the school bus, then drove onto the sidewalk and narrowly missed striking a pedestrian while destroying a newspaper box and the Baltimore County bus stop sign. Witnesses told police the driver of the Toyota, a woman, left her car to check on the condition of the pedestrian, then drove away. The school bus was carrying five special-needs students returning from the Kennedy Krieger Institute. None were harmed, although one student was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center at the request of his mother. photo by Bill Gates
