The Baltimore County Department for Economic Development Workforce Division is encouraging all former RG Steel workers to apply for Trade Adjustment Assistance [TAA] to avoid missing any federal benefits.
Laid-off RG Steel workers must apply for federal TAA assistance no later than 26 weeks after a layoff. For some workers, the deadline is this month.
TAA benefits include job training, extended unemployment benefits and relocation assistance.
