Public comment on recycling facility extended

    The Baltimore County Department of Public Works is proposing an amendment to Baltimore County‚Äôs Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan to allow a new recycling facility at 4070 North Point Road in Dundalk.
    The Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability is reviewing a permit application filed by Bear Creek Recycling, LLC, which wants to operate a solid waste recycling facility that only processes construction and demolition material.
    A public meeting was held on Wednesday, Nov. 7 regarding this proposed facility and anyone interested in submitting written comments on the proposed amendment are required to respond by Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. This is an extension from the original deadline date of Dec. 12.
    Written comments on the proposed facility, including but not limited to the proposed Ten Year Solid Waste Plan amendment, should be sent to or Edward C. Adams Jr., Director, Department of Public Works, 111 West Chesapeake Avenue, Towson, MD 21204.
