| Maryland Parent Involvement Matters nominations now open |

| The Maryland State Department of Education is now accepting nominations for the sixth annual Maryland Parent Involvement Matters Award [PIMA] program. The PIMA recognizes parents and guardians with legal responsiblity for a child whose exemplary contributions to public education have led to improvements for Maryland’s public school children, teachers, programs and/or policies. Created by MSDE, the award highlights the positive impact parents have on public education and encourages parental involvement in schools. An eligible nominee is any adult with legal responsibility for a child who has significantly impacted a Maryland public school within the last 24 months in the areas of communication, volunteering, learning, community collaboration and/or decision making.
