Baltimore County’s Growing Home Campaign, coordinated by the county’s Department of Environmental Protection and Resource Management,  has expanded to include a partnership with Baltimore City.
The Growing Home program, a winner of the National Association of Counties 2008 Achievement Award, is a public-private partnership that attempts to increase the tree canopy in the region by offering homeowners comprehensive education about planting trees and a cash incentive to encourage tree planting on private residential land.
Through the Growing Home brochure and site, baltimorecountymd.gov/
go/trees, homeowners can receive a $10 Growing Home Tree coupon, information about the value of adding  trees to their property and neighborhoods, guidance about site considerations, tree species selection and instructions about tree planting and maintenance.
