    General John Stricker Middle School received a $5,000 grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust Fund to support environmental education. The grant reduced the costs for 100 six-grade students who are attending NorthBay Adventure Camp in Cecil County.

    The Board of Education of Baltimore County will hold a public hearing to seek comment on the capital budget for fiscal year 2015 on Wednesday, May 22, at 7 p.m., at the Baltimore County Public Schools Administrative Offices, ESS Building, room 114, 6901 Charles St. Public sign-up begins 6 p.m. Those unable to attend the meeting can submit written comments to the board. Correspondence should be received no later than Friday, June 14.

    A quarter auction to benefit Our Lady of Hope/St. Luke School is set for Thursday, May 16, at the school, 8003 North Boundary Road, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Bidding starts at 7 p.m. Prizes from national vendors available.
