McMillion receives officers’ commission

     Katleyn McMillion has been appointed a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after taking the oath of office upon completing both her bachelor’s degree coursework and ROTC training at Wright State University.
    She will train with the Army Quartermaster Corps at Fort Lee, Va., and then report to Fort Stewart, Ga., upon completion of her basic officer training. She graduated magna cum laude from Wright State with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
    McMillion attended Patapsco High School and Center for The Arts and was battalion commander of the school’s JROTC where she was mentored by retired Lt. Col. Bruce Kahl and Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald Stallings. She is the first JROTC cadet from Patapsco to receive an Army commission.
    She is the daughter of William and Kelly McMillion of Gray Manor.
