General John Stricker Middle School’s entire sixth grade class, consisting of 250 students, participated in a project to clean up the stream behind the school on June 5. The students pulled over 800 pounds of trash from the stream, including several shopping carts, waste barrels and hundreds of bottles. The project was planned by sixth-graders who attended the five-day NorthBay Adventure Camp in May, where students learned about team-building skills, character development and environmental science.
