What’s new in the business community

The Seasoned Mariner at 601 Wise Avenue, was named one of the “Top Twenty Best Outside Dining Areas” in the June issue of Baltimore Magazine. Known for casual dining, the restaurant offers mostly seafood dishes for lunch and dinner either inside or under palm trees on the beach overlooking scenic Bear Creek.
They’ve moved! Trans Tech Transmissions, formerly located at 6218 Holabird Avenue, has moved to 2200 Van Deman Street, Suite 800 inside the Holabird Business Park. Trans Tech is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Thompson Hyundai is open and operating in temporary buildings on Merritt Boulevard while a brand new Hyundai facility – expected to open later this year – is being built in the old location. The Thompson Automotive Group, a family owned and operated dealership first established in 1929, has also announced completion of the massive expansion of its Auto Park complex on Route 40 in Edgewood. A second collision repair center, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, will allow for larger capacity and additional services. Thompson’s new Used Car Super Store has opened along with an expanded Toyota showroom and service center, doubling the size of the previous facility. Thompson Toyota plans to hire 20-25 full-time employees to staff the expanded facility. Always interested in investing in local people and their communities, Thompson hopes the new Merritt Boulevard store and its showrooms in Edgewood will help local businesses by increasing foot traffic in their respective areas. With Toyota, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Hyundai and Mazda dealerships in five different locations in Dundalk and Harford County, the Thompson Automotive Group is among the fastest growing auto concerns in Maryland.
