Baltimore County Public Schools encourages parents and guardians to register their children early for the 2013-14 school years. Early registration allows families to collect proper documentation and facilitates school planning for the coming year.
Parents and guardians must register children enrolling for the first time in a Baltimore County school; or who have recently moved to Baltimore County from another county; have changed residences within the county since the last school year and will be attending a new school; will be entering grade six or grade nine in the new school year; or does not legally reside in the county but may be allowed to attend a county school.
Parents and guardians should contact the school students are entering to make a registration appointment. All BCPS schools are open during regular business hours Monday through Friday throughout the summer.
During enrollment, parents and guardians must provide their child’s birth certificate, immunization records and the parent’s photo idenification.
For students  entering  grades six or grade nine, the following documentation for proof of residency is also required: photo identification, a copy of a lease or deed and three pieces of mail sent to the student’s current address within the last 60 days. Documents must reflect the same residency.
Students who are entering the sixth or ninth grades must be enrolled by Friday, Aug. 2. The requirements for registering sixth- or ninth-graders do not apply to shared domicile, homeless or nonresident students.
Families who are homeless can request assistance with school registration by contacting either the last school attended or the nearest school. These schools can provide the name and telephone number of a school pupil personnel worker or a school-based homeless liaison. For more information on enrolling homeless children, call 410-887-0404.
Parents and guardians of children who speak  languages other than English should make an appointment for English language support screening before registering for school. Call 410-887-6752 or visit languages for more information.
