•   Smoking cessation classes will be offered at the library on Mondays from Nov. 4 to Dec. 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The classes are free and include free nicotine gum, patches and lozenges. Registration is required; call the library to register or for more information.
•   Marble machines, a hands-on investigation of the mechanics of marbles for youths, meets Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. Registration required.  
•   Anime and Manga Night meets Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. Teens draw and discuss manga and watch anime favorites.
•   Lego Fun for children ages 6 to 12 meets Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. Supplies provided. Registration required. Participants younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 
•   Happy Dog Adventures with Mirabelle and Michael Muller meets on Saturday, October 26, 2 p.m. Children ages 2 to 5, with an adult, learn how pets can be companions. 
•   Let’s Talk about Books sponsored by the Friends of North Point Library meets Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to discuss The Story Teller, by Jodi Picoult.
•   For Youth by Youth, a practical guide for teenage living for youths ages 11 to 17, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m.
•   One-on-One computer help is available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the computer room. A librarian will assist in setting up e-mail accounts, online applications and more.
•   Preschool Story Time for children 2 to 5 years old with an adult meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Activities include stories, songs and bouncing, followed by play time. Registration required.
•   Baby Story Time for toddlers 23 months and younger with an adult meets every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Activities include stories, songs and rhyming, followed by play time. Registration required.
•   Thursday Knit and Stitch, a drop-in knitting and crocheting group for patrons ages 13 and older meets every Thursday  from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All levels of experience welcome. Bring your own projects or get ideas from the library’s large selection of craft books. This is not a class, but group leader Paula Dixon can answer basic questions.
•   Computer Room for independent work in a quiet environment for patrons ages 13 and older is open Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
