U.S. Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger is inviting all high school students who reside in the 2nd Congressional District to participate in the App Challenge. The competition requires students to create an original software application for mobile, tablet or other computer device on a platform of their choice. To enter the competition, students must provide a YouTube or Vimeo video demonstration explaining their app and what they learned in the process of developing it. Submitted apps will be judged by a panel of academic, software and entrepreneurial experts. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 30.
The challenge is part of a national effort by the U.S. House of Representatives to promote science, technology, engineering and math innovation. Winning apps from participating congressional districts will be featured on representatives’ websites and displayed in an exhibit at the U.S. Capitol.
