A Baltimore County Precinct 12 police car responding to a call for an accident involving an injury struck two other vehicles while passing through the intersection on Merritt Boulevard at Ives Lane. According to county police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton, the squad car was traveling southbound on Merritt Boulevard at 8 a.m. on Tuesday with its emergency lights and siren activated. When the car entered the intersection against the red light, it struck a 2005 Chevrolet Impala that was making a left-hand turn from Merritt Boulevard onto Ives Lane. The impact caused the patrol car to spin, cross over the center median strip, and strike a Ford Taurus. No one was injured in any of the involved vehicles.
