Busy spring creates job opportunities

Although the Dundalk area has lately been hammered with bad news about job losses, there is some good news, as Home Depot recently announced that it is looking to hire 750 associates in the Baltimore area and 80,000 nationwide.
That hiring plan includes the Dundalk Home Depot at 6315 Eastern Ave.
Dundalk store manager Chuck Neary told The Eagle that his store is looking to add more people to its work force.
“We have 210 associates at the store, and we are looking to add 60 to 70 part-time employees,” he said.
Neary said his store and others across the country are hiring to prepare for spring, which he said is the company’s busiest time of year.
After the winter months are over, Neary said, many homeowners finally have a chance to work on home projects or patch up any recurring problems that might have been caused by the ravages of winter.
“Spring is like our Christmastime,” Neary noted. “The springtime is very chaotic in here, with all of our customers’ projects. We are a weather-based company.”

The Home Depot said it encourages students, retirees, veterans and reservists to apply. Interested parties can go online at   http://careers.homedepot.com to apply.
“You have to apply online. You can come here and apply on-line or you can do it from home,” Neary said.
