ODNA, Dun-Logan to mark National Night Out on Aug. 5
As the calendar turns to August and summer starts to wind down, there is still one great summer tradition left that the community can look forward to — National Night Out (NNO).
This will be the 30th year for the national event that gets communities across the country to come together on the first Tuesday in August.
The purpose of the event, as stated on the NNO website,, is “to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships [and] neighborhood camaraderie and [to] send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.”
Many Dundalk-area communities will hold events on Tuesday, Aug. 5. In Old Dundalk, the Old Dundalk Neighborhood Association (ODNA) is partnering again with the Dun-Logan Community Association for their NNO.
The two organizations will offer free food, along with fun, games and crafts, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Veterans Park.
