Police responded to an assault call on Friday night at 6:44 p.m. in the parking lot of the Food Lion grocery store in the 7500 block of North Point Road. A man had been attacked by two other men using a machete in the assault, police said.
The victim suffered a severe injury to one of his arms and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. No updates were available on his condition, but he is expected to survive.
Witnesses told an Eagle reporter the victim had accused one of the suspects of taking his bicycle, prompting the attack. That has not been confirmed by police as of press time.

According to police, the victim was robbed by an unknown man at 11:19 p.m. in the 8000 block of Eastdale Road.
