Former Dundalk Eagle senior reporter Edwin Van Holland died April 25 at the age of 82 in Chevy Chase, Md.
Known as “Van” to family, friends and coworkers, he covered local politics and community organizations for The Eagle from the early 1980s to the early 1990s.
“He was well versed on the ins and outs of local groups,” recalled publisher Deborah Cornely, who was the paper’s managing editor during his tenure. “He seemed to have a rapport with organization leaders.”
Cornely remembered Holland as a mild mannered and soft-spoken man. “But his demeanor belied a fierce capacity to dig out the truth in any situation,” she added.
