The Photography of Greg Nickey

His passion for photography began at the National Arboretum when he used just two 35mm disposable cameras to take some amazing photos of bonsai trees.   Now, 10 years later, CCBC student Greg Nickey, who has mild cerebral palsy, has taken more than 500 publishable prints, has won multiple prizes in photo contests, and is  featured in photo exhibits at such places as the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and the World Trade Center in downtown Baltimore.

As evidenced by his large portfolio of photos of downtown and the Inner Harbor, Greg’s favorite subject to photograph is “anything Baltimore,” and many of his works have been displayed alongside photos by the famous Baltimore photographer A. Aubrey Bodine.

In addition to photos of Baltimore, Greg, who is self-taught and uses only a point-and-shoot camera, has an impressive portfolio of nature prints, including an extensive collection featuring beautiful birds, butterflies and landscapes.
