Baltimore County Public Library and its Youth and Family Engagement Team are excited to offer a virtual hangout space, just for teens! If you are ages 11 to 17, join our Teen Discord server if you also enjoy discussing things like:

• Anime

• Arts and crafts

• Books

• Movies

• Trivia

• Video games

This server is a great chance for teens to chat with other teens and our librarians, and stay in touch with various programs that we’re virtually presenting — all in a welcoming environment.

How to Join

There are two ways to join:

- Using your email address, register for an upcoming teen program that is being hosted on Discord. The Discord link will be emailed to you about 30 minutes before the program begins.

- Complete the Join the Teen Discord Server form and the Discord link will be emailed to you within 1 to 3 days.

About Discord

Discord is a free app that allows users to communicate via text, voice or video in real time, and is available as a mobile app, a PC program or through any web browser. It has primarily been used and known as an app for video gaming but has quickly become a social media hangout for several topics and interests.

We are using Discord as a digital hangout space, specifically for teens, to provide virtual programming in a curated and well-moderated virtual space. The server may be public but it is constantly monitored by our librarians and has safety measures in place to ensure that the server is always as safe as possible.
