2 killed, 1 injured in house fire on Kavanagh Road

Two fatalities were confirmed on the scene. One victim was found on the stairway, the other in an upstairs room.

A third person who was inside when the fire started escaped by jumping through a window, and was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview with non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth resident had already left for work before the fire started.

Two dogs also died in the fire.

The names of the two people killed were not available at press time.

The American Red Cross is assisting the two displaced residents.

Fires in row homes are especially dangerous because they can spread very quickly. Responding crews had the blaze under control by 7:41 that morning.

Fire investigators with the Baltimore County Police Department are investigating the cause of this fire.
