The Maryland Young Republicans will host a Republican Second Congressional District Forum at the Essex Branch Library, 1110 Eastern Blvd., from 6:30-8 p.m.

Candidates will have an opportunity to explain their position on the issues important to Marylander’s in the Second Congressional District, including health care, the economy, infrastructure, and safety from threats at home and abroad. The forum will be moderated and run by the Maryland Young Republicans with questions coming from our members, and a google form will be made for the public to submit questions. Each candidate will be given time for an opening statement, questions directed towards them, time to respond to other candidates, and time for a closing statement.

The Wise Avenue Fire Company, 214 Wise Ave. is hosting a quarter auction in the rear of the fire hall, beginning at 7 p.m. The doors will open at 6 p.m. The cost is $5 for three paddles. The Patterson Park Audubon Center is offering free wildlife gardening workshops. Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts presents the Tony-Award winning musical Matilda The Musical!, based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl. Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl with mesmerizing wit, courage and imagination, who dares to take a stand and change her destiny, proving that despite all odds you can do anything you point your mind to. Performances are March 5-7 at 7 p.m. and March 8 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at 8100 Wise Ave. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors, and $12 for adults. St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at 1803 Dundalk Av. will hold their annual prayer breakfast- at 9:00 a.m. Cost per person is $7.

Our Lady of Hope/St. Luke School, 8003 N. Boundary Rd., is hosting its 26th Annual Spaghetti Dinner from 4-7 p.m. Enjoy delicious food, wheels, games and family fun. The menu will include spaghetti with homemade sauce, two meatballs, salad, bread with butter, dessert, soft drinks and coffee. The cost is $7.50 for senior citizens, $8.50 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12 and $2 for children under five years old. Carry-out orders are an additional 50 cents.

The Turner Station and greater Dundalk community are invited to the Seventh Annual Henrietta Lacks Legacy Group Essay and Video Awards Ceremony from noon-1:30 p.m. at the Sollers Point Multi-Purpose Center, 323 Sollers Point Road, in classroom 109.

Winners of the HLLG Essay and Video Competition will be recognized. The winning video and first place essays will be shared. The program will be followed by a reception.

The Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Seasoned Mariner, 601 Wise Ave., from 6-9 p.m. Food, drinks, live Irish music, dancers, raffles and more will be available. Proceeds will support the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade, organized by the Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, will begin at 11 a.m. The parade route will begin at Logan Village Shopping Center and will end at Heritage Park and Dundalk Elementary School. The Bethlehem Steel Legacy Project at the Baltimore Museum of Industry presents The Fall of Steel in Words and Photos at the North Point Library, 1716 Merritt Blvd., 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Photographer J. M. Giordano will show photos from his project, “Shuttered: Images from the Fall of Bethlehem Steel,” followed by a group discussion about the plant’s demise.

Clean Bread and Cheese Creek will host a Spring Bread and Cheese Creek Cleanup from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Rain or shine, people will clean up the section of Historic Bread and Cheese Creek from the Berkshire Area to North Point Road. Registration will be at 2408 Plainfield Rd. This event will be run in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s Annual Project Clean Stream and American River’s Nation River Cleanup.

“We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them.”

Volunteer photographers and videographers are needed.

The Dundalk Church of the Nazarene will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Bear Creek Elementary School, 1607 Melbourne Rd., from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The event will include an egg hunt, games, and photos with the Easter Bunny. • Sunday, April 5:

Dundalk American Legion Post 38, 3300 Dundalk Ave., will host the First Annual Indoor Cornhole Tournament for Charity. Signup begins at 11 a.m., and the bags begin flying at 1 p.m. Money raised will go to veterans of Dundalk American Legion Post 38. The cost is $40 per team. Bring a partner and sign up in teams of two. The tournament is limited to only 32 teams. People will be allowed to enter into laydowns and 50/50 raffles. Food and drinks will be available for purchase in the hall.

• Saturday, April 18:

A Stansbury Park and Pond Cleanup will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. This public event is organized by John Long. Registration will be located at or near the pavillion, 7800 Stansbury Rd. Look for registration tents and the Clean Bread and Cheese Creek banners. Registration will open at 8 a.m. This event will run rain or shine.

• Saturday, April 25:

The Sparrows Point Alumni Association is hosting an all-alumni reunion at Sparrows Point Country Club, 919 Wise Avenue, from 6-10 p.m. Beer, wine and a buffet will be served.
