• Saturday, January 25:

The Patapsco High School Boosters Fundraiser Class of 2022 will hold a public event at Pinland Bowling Lanes at 10 N. Dundalk Ave. from 6-9 p.m. Cost of admission is $10 per person. Shoe rental is concluded. A bake table, 50/50 and raffle baskets will be available. Twenty percent of Duckpond sales will be donated to the organization.

The Dundalk Patapsco Neck Historical Society & Museum will hold a Volunteer Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Museum at 4 Center Place, Dundalk Shopping Center. The Fair is in preparation for the 2020 Defenders Day Celebration at Ft. Baltimore County’s Workgroup on Equitable Policing will host a listening session at Sollers Point Community Center, 323 Sollers Point Road, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. In November 2019, County Executive Johnny Olszewski issued an executive order announcing the formation of the Baltimore County Workgroup on Equitable Policing in order to examine current policies, practices, and training related to policing and offer recommendations to ensure equitable practices and to bring greater transparency and accountability to law enforcement.

The purpose of this listening session is to seek public comment around efforts to ensure equitable policing in Baltimore County.

Join Artist Katie Detrich at Seasoned Mariner, 601 Wise Ave, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Your ticket includes art materials and instruction only. Please come early for dinner, appetizers and drinks. Enjoy a night filled with landscape painting techniques, famous artist quotes and laughter. You will receive step-by-step instruction from Katie. This class is suitable for beginners. you will use acrylic paint, fan brush, 1-inch brush, 2-inch brush, liner brush, painting knife and a mixing palette. Attire from the 1980s is encouraged. Everyone who dresses in their favorite 1980s outfit will receive a special gift from Katie. Check-in is at 6 p.m. Painting instruction will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Cancellations due to winter weather will result in rescheduling or a refund within 7-10 business days. Aprons are not provided, but you can purchase a handmade cotton apron to take home with you when you purchase your ticket. The Maryland Young Republicans will host a Republican Second Congressional District Forum at the Essex Branch Library, 1110 Eastern Blvd., from 6:30-8 p.m.

Candidates will have an opportunity to explain their position on the issues important to Marylander’s in the Second Congressional District, including health care, the economy, infrastructure, and safety from threats at home and abroad. The forum will be moderated and run by the Maryland Young Republicans with questions coming from our members, and a google form will be made for the public to submit questions. Each candidate will be given time for an opening statement, questions directed towards them, time to respond to other candidates, and time for a closing statement.

The Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Seasoned Mariner, 601 Wise Ave., from 6-9 p.m. Food, drinks, live Irish music, dancers, raffles and more will be available. The event will have a limited menu with Irish favorites and Seasoned Mariner specialties. Reservations are recommended. Call the Seasoned Mariner at 443-242-7190 to make a reservation. Proceeds will support the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

• Saturday, March 14:

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade, organized by the Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, will begin at 11 a.m. The parade route will begin at Logan Village Shopping Center and will end at Heritage Park and Dundalk Elementary School. The Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts Class of 2022 will host Bingo Night at the Wise Avenue Fire Company, 214 Wise Ave., beginning at 5 p.m. Come out and support the Class of 2022 and play bingo. Doors open at 5 p.m. and bingo begins at 6 p.m.

Rain or shine, people will clean up the section of Historic Bread and Cheese Creek from the Berkshire Area to North Point Road. Registration will be at 2408 Plainfield Rd. This event will be run in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s Annual Project Clean Stream and American River’s Nation River Cleanup.

“We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them.”
