Dundalk tree lighting scheduled
On Saturday, Dec. 11 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., the Eastern Regional Lions Club will be hosting the third Annual Dundalk Community Christmas Tree Lighting at Poplar Place Shopping Center. The Lions have partnered with the North Point Library to offer kids crafts and fun activities in the library before they come to see the tree and the arrival of Santa and the gang! Baltimore County Police will help attendees cross the street from the library to Poplar.
The Lions Club will have free snacks and hot chocolate for everyone, and toys for the children at Poplar Place.
Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 5:30 p.m. on the Purkey Party Pumper bubble blowing and fire shooting fire engine. The tree will be lit at 5:45 p.m., and after children can get their pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Elf on the Shelf, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and friends!

Make an optimistic snowman
Build a snowman at the Dundalk Optimist Club during their annual Christmas tree sale at a 4528 North Point Blvd.
The snowman craft will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 as long as snowman supplies last.
As long as there are still trees, trees will be on sale from around 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the week, and from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends until Dec. 18.
Stars and Stripes celebration slated
The Dundalk American Legion Post 38, located at 3300 Dundalk Ave., will be hosting its second annual “Stars and Stripes” celebration on Sunday, Dec. 12, to raise money for Angels Supporting Your Troops, the local charity which ships packages to our troops overseas.
The event is running from noon to 4 p.m., and there will be Christmas gifts, vendor sales, raffles, an auction and more. Food and drink is available for purchase, and a DJ will be playing. Even Santa might make a surprise appearance.
Donate blood at the VFD
The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at the North Point-Edgemere Volunteer Fire Department, 7500 North Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21219, on Tuesday, Dec. 14 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Chamber, Eagle hosting open house
The Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and The Dundalk Eagle will be hosting a holiday open house on Thursday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Watersedge hosting Christmas party, parade
The Watersedge Rec Council will hold a Christmas party at the Watersedge Community Center starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18. All children in attendance will receive a cookie, cupcake, juice and toy from the big man himself, Santa Claus.
Following the party, the rec council will host its own Christmas Parade, featuring classic cars, Jeeps, floats, elves and Santa.

Have breakfast with Santa, and paint a rock!
The Dundalk Optimist Club will be hosting a breakfast with Santa, immediately followed by a rock paint craft, on Saturday, Dec. 18 at their clubhouse located at 4528 North Point Blvd.
The breakfast with Santa will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, and will cost $5 per person, or $20 per family of 4 or more.
The rock painting craft will run afterwards, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Free bingo extravaganza planned at Eastpoint
Eastpoint Mall will be hosting a free bingo extravaganza in the food court on Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Double the prize amounts, double the games! Grand prizes will include Visa gift cards for $100, $50 and $25. Attendees must be 18 or older to play.
