Submit photos, bumper sticker slogans to DRC
The deadline to submit to Dundalk Renaissance’s annual photo contest and bumper sticker slogan contest is Friday, Jan. 7!
For the photo contest, DRC is seeking high-resolution photos from photographers of all skill levels showing their Dundalk pride. Winners will have their work displayed in The Forge at 11 Center Pl, and win a prize. Email photos to Meghan@DundalkUSA.org. Multiple submissions are allowed, but please send one photo per email.
And for the sticker contest, DRC is seeking slogans for new Dundalk-centric bumper stickers to be unveiled in time for “Dundalk Day,” Feb. 12, 2022 (also written as 2/12/22, which is most of Dundalk’s zip code.) Send slogan suggestions, or a design mock up to Meghan@DundalkUSA.org by Jan. 7.
Celebrate local boy’s Leukemia recovery with parade
Join family and friends in celebrating Edgemere 10 year old Ronnie Fortney’s end of treatment as he wraps up battling cancer for the last 3 and a half years.
Ronnie’s journey will be celebrated for the hardship no child should ever have to face on with a parade, but the community is also encouraged to send videos and letters of love.
Beep, honk, yell and wave in the drive-by parade on Monday, Jan. 10, which meets at 4:15 p.m. at Edgemere Bible Church, 3011 Ross Ave, 21219. Or, record a short video with your message to Ronnie and post in the Facebook event page for his recovery celebration, or send to his mom Jessica Smyth in Facebook Messenger. Also, you can mail a card to Ronnie wishing him well in his recovery or an 11th birthday card. Send a private message to his mom, Jessica Smyth, for the mailing address.
