Wise Ave. VFD train garden back in action

The Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Christmas train garden will be opening on Saturday, Nov. 27 at the firehouse, located at 214 Wise Ave.

The annual train garden, a Dundalk tradition for nearly 100 years, will be open every weekday from 6 to 9 p.m., and on weekends from noon to 9 p.m. It will be closed on Christmas Day. Masks are encouraged, but not required. For more information, contact the firehouse at 410-288-0710.

Historical Society’s train garden opening up

The Dundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society’s 21st annual community train garden will be open for visitors beginning Sunday, Nov. 28.

The free train garden will run through Jan. 2, 2022 in the historical society building at 4 Center Place, opposite the Dundalk post office. It will be open Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., and open from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The train garden will be closed on Christmas.

Tradepoint lighting the star

Tradepoint Atlantic will hold its annual Star of Bethlehem Steel lighting on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.

There will be light refreshments as well as an appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the star lighting this year.

Guests will need to park at Tradepoint’s corporate office building, 1600 Sparrows Point Blvd, and take a shuttle to the event location. They are asked to park on the southwest side of the building near Tradepoint Avenue, closest to Under Armour, and board at the Security entrance. The shuttle will begin running at 4:30 p.m.

Holiday stroll set for December

Santa Claus Anonymous’ 2021 Holiday Stroll will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at Sparrows Point Country Club, 919 Wise Avenue.

The stroll costs $20, and benefits children throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan area who face the prospect of a Christmas without gifts.

Enjoy the holiday music and goodies while you take a stroll through the scenic paths of the golf course. Holiday costumes (and masks) are encouraged!

Christmas Parade and other hoopla set

Historic Dundalk’s “holiday hoopla” will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 beginning at 2 p.m., with the Dundalk-Eastfield Rec Council’s annual Christmas parade stepping off at 3 p.m. and heading through the town center.

At the town center, there will be kids’ crafts, giveaways, music and more.

Limited number of gingerbread decorating kits will be available thanks to the generous sponsorship of Dunmanway Apartments, Chick-Fil-A Eastpoint and Tru Management. Pre-registration is available at Dundalk Renaissance’s event page for the event.

Take a walk through Santa’s workshop

Enjoy a trip through Santa’s workshop with the Bear Creek Rec Council on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Take a picture with Santa, try the candy cane hunt and make a craft. There will also be vendors in the gym so attendees can get some Christmas shopping done. Tickets are $5.

Dundalk tree lighting scheduled

The Dundalk Christmas tree lighting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Poplar Place.

Donate blood at the VFD

The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at the North Point-Edgemere Volunteer Fire Department, 7500 North Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21219, on Tuesday, Dec. 14 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Watersedge hosting Christmas party, parade

The Watersedge Rec Council will hold a Christmas party at the Watersedge Community Center starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18. All children in attendance will receive a cookie, cupcake, juice and toy from the big man himself, Santa Claus.

Following the party, the rec council will host its own Christmas Parade, featuring classic cars, Jeeps, floats, elves and Santa.
