High school hosts trunk or treat

Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts will be hosting their third annual trunk or treat event for the community from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, and it will feature a canned food drive as well as, of course, candy.

‘58 luncheon scheduled

Dundalk Class of ’58’s fall luncheon will be held on Friday, Oct. 29th at the Seasoned Mariner at 601 Wise Ave., Dundalk, MD 21222. Happy Hour is from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch is starting at 1 p.m. Payment by separate checks.

Trunk or Treat at Eastpoint

Eastpoint Mall will host a Trunk or Treat at Eastpoint Mall on Friday, Oct. 29 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in partnership with the Eastern Regional Lions, Dundalk Optimist Club, Holabird Middle School PTSA and Dangerously Delicious Pies.

The Trunk or Treat will be in the overflow parking lot off of North Point Boulevard, between JCPenney and the food court. Parking will be available in the Value City parking lot. All patrons and participants will be required to wear face masks at all times.

Legion hosting trunk or treat

The Dundalk American Legion Post 38 sponsors its second annual ‘Trunk or Treat’ event. The event will be held in the parking lot and patio at 3300 Dundalk Ave., Dundalk, MD on Saturday, Oct. 30 from noon until 4 p.m. This is a FREE event and will feature local businesses and individuals with Halloween decorated vehicles handing out various treats and goodies for neighborhood children along with the American Legion Post.

There will be a crafts table, free snacks and plenty of Halloween photo opportunities including a working prop ‘Electric Chair’ to try out. There will also be a Costume Contest (children 12 and under) and a contest for best decorated trunk.

Those setting up for a business or individual’s vehicles are asked to be in place by 11:30 a.m. the day of the event. For information contact Ann at 443-421-5001 or the American Legion Post at 410-288-2297.

DRC hosts family fall festival

Dundalk Renaissance will be hosting a free, fun family fall festival at Veterans Park on Shipping Place on Saturday, Oct. 30.

There will be kids’ activities, vendors, a costume contest for both kids (at noon) and dogs (at 11:30 a.m.) and trick-or-treating at Dundalk Town Center businesses starting at 1 p.m.

Registration for the costume contests begins at 9:45 a.m., and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

One Day at a Time hosting trunk or treat

A trunk or treat will be held at the West Inverness Recreation Center, 8301 Lynch Rd, on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m., and will be hosted by One Day at a Time, a charity which specializes in helping children who are less fortunate.

The trunk or treat will begin at 3 p.m., and a costume contest will start at 5 p.m.

Bull and shrimp feast, Halloween party benefits Ace’s Place

A fundraiser for Ace’s Place, an area substance abuse resource provider, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Superior Catering by M&M and Sons at 1010 Oldham Street, Baltimore 21224, starting at 7 p.m.

There will be steamed shrimp, pit beef and ham, BBQ chicken, crab soup, shrimp scampi, mac and cheese, baked ziti and cake. There will also be a costume contest and a DJ.

Chamber hosting farmers market

The Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its final community farmers market on Saturday, Oct. 30, and will be drawing raffle ticket winners. Participants are offering fresh fruit, veggies, jams, jellies, honey, eggs and more. The market is held every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the corner of Dunmanway and Shipping Place in Historic Dundalk Town Center.

Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m.

Remember to turn your clocks backwards one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7! You won’t want to miss that extra hour of sleep.

Girl Scouts holding reunion

Former Girl Scouts from the area are invited to attend a reunion at the Hughes Memorial Presbyterian Church in Edgemere on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m.

Metzgar hosts veterans’ town hall

Del. Ric Metzgar will hold the Sixth Annual Veterans Town Hall meeting and job fair on Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ateaze Senior Center, 7401 Holabird Avenue. The event is for male and female veterans of all ages regardless of branch or overseas service, and masks are required.

Representatives from several governmental departments, as well as veterans organizations, services and businesses will be in attendance. Veterans seeking jobs are asked to bring resumes and dress appropriately for job interviews.

Optimists to recognize citizens and humanitarians of two years

The Dundalk Optimist Club will honor the 2019 and 2020 Citizen and Humanitarian of the year honorees at the Optimists’ annual awards banquet on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Fiesta’s Catering Hall. Tickets are $45, and can be purchased by contacting Will Feuer at 443-690-6875 or feuerwilliam@gmail.com.
