Congratuations to Melvin and Linda (Dawson) Fillmore, who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!
Melvin is from Ft. Howard, and Linda is from Edgemere. The couple were married exactly one month to the day from Linda’s graduation from Sparrows Point High School on June 12, 1969.
July 12, 1969 was their wedding day, and July 12 of this year marked 50 golden years.
The Fillmore’s have three children. Daughter Rebecca Whitaker from St. Johns, Michigan has four children of her own: Zack, Jacob, Alisyne and Emily. They worked on preparations for a party along with the Fillmore’s two sons. Pastor Jason and wife Melissa from Alma, West Virginia have three children: Ryan, Natalie and Valerie. Their youngest son, Ben, called “Boomer” and his wife Michele from Pasadena helped prepare the food for the big event.
Over 70 family and friends helped celebrate the occasion at the Odd Fellows Hall on Old Battle Grove Road in Dundalk. Everyone had a great time reminiscing about family and good times!
A highlight of the party was eleven boards of photos of the 50 plus years since the Fillmores first met in 1967. You could hear several people exclaiming, “I remember that photo!”
From babies born, grandchildren born and graduated, to the old photos of cars — their beautiful decades together were documented in pictures. A good time was had by all!
Best wishes for many more years of wedded bliss from all the family to the Fillmores!
