DUNDALK — A missing child has died after being found in a stream in Dundalk on Friday.
The 6-year-old girl was reported missing from a home on Stratman Road at approximately 3:52 p.m. on Friday, August 9. Baltimore County police officers were called to the 7900 block of Stratman Road, and immediately deployed K-9, marine and aviation crews to look for the young girl.
At 4:53 p.m., the child was found by a Baltimore County police officer.
She was reportedly found behind Merritt Park Baptist Church in the stream that runs through a wooded area off Merritt Boulevard.
She was in cardiac arrest.
The officer who found the young girl began CPR. Emergency crews were called to the scene immediately. The child — who had autism and nonverbal — was taken to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
The young girl was pronounced dead at 5:50 p.m.
All juvenile deaths are investigated by homicide detectives, but no foul play is currently suspected.
