Dates set for 138th Maryland State Fair

The 138th MY Maryland State Fair, a fun and educational destination sure to captivate visitors of all ages, will run from Thursday, Aug. 22, to Monday, Sept. 2, at the Timonium fairgrounds in Baltimore County. MY Maryland State Fair is complete with daily home arts, farm and garden, livestock and horse exhibits, rides, games, live concerts and entertainment, and more. And here’s what you need to know for the 2019 State Fair!

General Information:

PHYSICAL ADDRESS: 2200 York Road, Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093

DATES: August 22-September 2, 2019

HOURS: Come as early as 9AM to see the beginning of Livestock and Horse shows. Buildings and Midway Rides, Game & Food open at Noon on Weekdays and 10AM on Weekends & Labor Day and close at 10PM. RIdes may stay open later. Enjoy the Fair!

Livestock and Horse Shows: Everyday starting at 9AM.

Demonstration Bldgs. and Exhibit Halls: Saturdays through Sundays from 10AM to 9PM. Weekdays from Noon to 9PM and Labor Day Monday from 10AM to 8PM.

Main Midway Hours: Saturdays through Sundays & Labor Day Monday from 10AM to 10PM and Weekdays from Noon to 10PM.

Kiddie Land Rides Area Hours: Saturdays through Sundays & Labor Day Monday from 10AM to 10PM. Weekdays from Noon to 10PM.

ADMISSION: Adult admission $10, Senior admission (62 & over) $8, Children (6 to 11) $5, Children 5 and under are admitted FREE (Rides are not included). Rides are individually priced. A ticket is required for all persons aged 3 and over for concerts held in the Racetrack Infield.

-Free Admission for Military, Police, Fire/EMS with active ID (this only applies to the individual with the active ID).

NOTE! Pets are not allowed on the fairgrounds with the exception of those participating in the sanctioned shows, demonstrations, competitions, and safety/medical dogs with appropriate documentation.

RIDE TICKETS: Individual ride tickets may be purchased on the Midway at the Ride Ticket Booths (various locations throughout Midway). Tickets are $1 each and each ride uses approximately 1-6 rides tickets. Discount Ticket Sheets are also available: 50 tickets for $45.


ADVANCE DISCOUNTS — Fairgoers will fare better by taking advantage of the Advance Group Ticket Sales Program by purchasing a $100 minimum of any combination of admission, ride wristband and/or food coupons between now and Friday. August 16th, 2019. Contact Edie Bernier at 410-252-0200 x225.

Advance one-day adult admission tickets for $8,

Advance one-day senior admission tickets (ages 62 and above) for $7,

Advance one-day child admission tickets (ages 6-11) for $4,

Advance vouchers redeemable for Ride-All-Rides Wristbands for $22,

and/or Advance twelve $1 Food Vouchers for $10.

Note: Children 5-years-old and under are admitted free, but rides are not included. UNLIMITED RIDE ALL RIDES WRISTBANDS: $30 Monday, August 26th, 2019 through Thursday, August 29th, 2019. $32 on Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd, 2019. (Sold from Noon to 6PM)

FOOD LION $5 OFF RIDE ALL RIDES WRISTBAND COUPON: While Supplies Last at participating Food Lion stores. Good only Monday, August 26th, 2019 through Thursday, August 29th, 2019. (Wristbands sold only from Noon to 6PM)

LABOR DAY: Unlimited ride all rides wristbands for Labor Day Monday, September 2nd, 2019 (sold from 10AM to 10PM) $32.

SPECIAL RIDES NOTES: All Riders (including parents riding with small children) must have either tickets or a wristband to ride. Visit, go to “Attractions” and choose a ride for more information or check out “Size Wise” (on mobile site) for individual ride height restrictions.


CONTEST RULES: No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chance of winning. The Contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. where not prohibited by law, who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. The MD State Fair has the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant. Anyone found to use multiple accounts to enter will be ineligible. Multiple entries in a single day will not be accepted. All eligible entries received during the Submission Period will be gathered and a winner will be chosen at random. This contest is not related, sponsored or affiliated with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram in any way.

LIVE THOROUGHBRED HORSERACING & SIMULCASTING (ONLY DURING THE 12 DAYS OF THE MARYLAND STATE FAIR): The Maryland State Fair is home to a 5/8th mile oval track, which overlooks scenic York Road. Live simulcast racing begins, Friday, August 23rd, 2019 through Sunday, August 25th, 2019 and Friday, August 30th. 2019 through Labor Day Monday, September 2nd, 2019.

PARKING: Limited parking is available on the Fairgrounds for $10. Free parking is available at the Park and Ride location on Deereco Road west of the Fairgrounds. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Handicapped parking is available. Please see the fairgrounds parkers, and they will direct you to the appropriate and closest handicapped parking area. Because convenient parking is limited, we encourage the use of the Light Rail. UBER/LYFT drop off and pick up location is on the Deerco Road Park and Ride Lot. Patrons may then enter the fairgrounds through the Light Rail admission gate.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Fairgoers can ride Light RailLink to the “Fairgrounds” station, or the LocalLink 93 busline to the Fairgrounds Park & Ride, located on Greenspring Drive. The Fairgrounds entrance gate, near the Cow Palace, is just a short walk from both services. Because convenient parking is limited, use of the public transit is encouraged.

WHEELCHAIR RENTALS: We are currently in the process of locating a new vendor. Please be prepared to make alternative plans for your wheelchair and stroller needs!

HAND WASHING STATIONS: Hand washing stations are set-up throughout the fairgrounds for you and your family’s convenience. Make sure that once you and your family are finished visiting the animals that they make good use of the hand washing stations!

CAMPING: Camping is NOT available during the Maryland State Fair and is ONLY available throughout the year, for Vendors of Maryland State Fairground events! The fee for camping is $25 per day and the security will collect these fees each evening. There is sewer, water and electric available during the summer months, and because we winterize everything during the winter water will not be available during the winter season. Check with the security office at 410-252-0200 x230 to make sure that security will be available and that the gates will be open.
