New Years Party

12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

Ring in the new year with good friends. Joey McCann will entertain you while you enjoy sweet treats. Admission is $3.

• January 3: How to survive cold weather season

10:30-11:30 a.m.

Beckie will suggest ways to stay healthy throughout the winter months. Free hand sanitizers and tissues will be offered. Sign up at the front desk by Dec. 27.

• January 6: TimeSlips

12:45-1:45 p.m.

Join Zoe as you create a story around various pictures. Sign up at the front desk by Dec. 30.

• January 7: Laminating Day

10:30-11:30 a.m.

Bring important cards or items (limited to two, and no larger than an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper) to be laminated by staff. No need to sign up.

• January 8: Massage

9 a.m.

Pay at the front desk to reserve a space. Must reserve appointment in advance at the front desk. Subject to availability.

Guided meditation with Paula

10:30-11:30 a.m.

Learning to balance all that life offers in an art. Come out and try basic meditation. You will leave the class feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Must sign up at the front desk.

Monthly birthday celebration

12:30-12:45 p.m.

Come celebrate, whether it’s your birthday or not. Enjoy Elvis trivia, because his birthday was Jan. 8. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 2.

• January 9: TED Talk series

10-11 a.m.

TED Talk are influential videos from expert speakers on education, business, science and tech. The subject of this video is “Inside the Mind of a Master Procrastinator.” It’s not too late to make some resolutions for the new year. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 2.

• January 10: Hot dogs and bingo

Noon- 3 p.m.

Double the fun. Eat lunch and play bingo. Lunch is $2 and cost for games is 50 cents per card super special games, and $1 for five games.

• January 13: Computer troubleshooting

10-11 a.m.

Join Alvin Miller as he discusses tips about your computers and phones. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 6.

• January 14: Executive board meeting

9 a.m.

10 a.m.-noon

Need a part-time job? Come out and see if this is a fit for you. You must submit an application and background checks will be performed. Look for additional dates through March.

• January 15: Dress your pet and picture day

9-11 a.m.

Your pet is a part of your family. Capture a special moment with your furry friend and enjoy for years to come. Pets must have all appropriate shots from a veterinarian, be housebroken, and be friendly with people and other pets. Pre-registration is a must.

Resolutions or reservations?

10:30-11:30 a.m.

Discussion around how to make resolutions for the new year and follow through. A glance at the relationships between your resolutions and making your dreams come true. It’s about you. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 8.

12:45 p.m.

This is a movie starring Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz as Iris and Amanda, two lovelorn women from opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean who arrange a home exchange to escape heartbreak during the Christmas and holiday season. Free popcorn. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 10.

Zoe instructs on how to make a sock penguin. It will tie in with your winter decorations and theme. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 17.

• January 29: Cookie baking an buying fundraiser

9 a.m.-noon

Staff will bake pre-cut cookies for sale. All proceeds benefit the center. The cost is $2 for six cookies. Buy multiple baggies. Must pre-order by Jan. 22. See the front desk for details.

• January 30: New member orientation

9:30-10:30 a.m.

Get a tour of the center and learn about its history. The session will help acquaint you to your new surroundings. Highly encouraged for new members. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 23.

This movie follows the life of figure skater Tonya Harding and her connection to the 1994 attack on her rival, Nancy Kerrigan. Free popcorn. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 24.

New class, Bingocize: Begins on Jan. 14

Zoe will incorporate exercise and Bingo during these classes. Have a chance to win small prizes while you get moving. Mark your calendars; classes are as follows: Tuesdays, Jan. 14, 21 and 28; and Thursdays, Jan. 16, 23 and 30. Classes are from 12:45-1:45 p.m.
