Pick up a copy of this month’s recipe. Utilizing a seasonal way of cooking, this vegetarian recipe incorporates cabbage, carrots, onions and spices. This recipe is free.
• Friday, February 14: Valentine’s Day Party and Screenings
11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Rearview Mirror performs during this special event. Free, heart-healthy screenings will be offered. Sign up in advance at the front desk. The cost is $5 and includes Eating Together meal and music.
• Monday, February 17: All senior centers will be closed for Presidents Day
• Thursday, February 20: Insights in Aging 1:45 a.m.
Share with others the highlights and low-lights of aging. This is a safe and confidential space to discuss what’s going on in your life. Must sign up at the front desk by Jan. 30.
• Friday, February 21: Cookie Decorating 12:45-1:45 p.m.
Decorate Valentine confections with Zoe. Must sign up at the front desk by Feb. 14.
• Monday, February 24: New Member Orientation 10:30 a.m.
Get a tour of Ateaze Senior Center and learn about its history. This orientation will help you get acquainted with the senior center. This is highly encouraged for new members. Must sign up at the front desk by Feb. 20.
• Tuesday, February 25: Mardi Gras Party 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Can’t get to the New Orleans carnival? No problem. Join us as Bobby Bassett entertains on the saxophone. Advance sign-up at the front desk is required with limited availability. The cost is $15 for members and $17 for non-members.
• Wednesday, February 26: Massage 9 a.m.-noon
Sign up at the front desk in order to reserve a space. Must sign up in advance at the front desk. Appointments are based on availability.
Guided Meditation with Paula
Classes are growing. Learning to balance all that life offers in an art. Come out and try basic meditation. You will leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Must sign up at the front desk.

Civic Works has received a grant to provide free energy and water-saving products to low and moderate-income households in Baltimore County. Come out to see if you qualify.
• Friday, February 28: Movie, “Hachi” 12:45 p.m.
Young Ronnie reveals to his classmates that his personal hero is a dog named Hachi. Ribbed by his fellow pupils, Ronnie goes on to tell the remarkable story of his grandfather’s friendship with the dog. Must sign up at the front desk by Feb. 21. Free popcorn will be available.

Random Acts of Kindness Week: February 18-21
Be on the lookout for kind acts around every corner. We hope that you will continue to spread love and kindness each day of the year.
Bingocize continues on Feb. 4
Zoe will incorporate exercise and Bingo during these classes. Have a chance to win small prizes while you get moving. Mark your calendars; classes are as follows: Tuesdays, Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25; and Thursdays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27.. Classes are from 12:45-1:45 p.m. A minimum of 10 people is required, or the class will be cancelled. Max occupancy for each class is 20 people. Sign up in advance at the front desk.
