The 2018 Open Cockpit Day season is coming to a close at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum with the Museum’s last 2018 Open Cockpit Day on Saturday, August 11, from 9am to 1pm. This special event provides visitors with a glimpse inside of aircraft on the Museum’s outdoor flightline. Special guest Jet Propulsion of the PBS children’s show “Ready Jet Go!” seen in Maryland on MPT, Jet’s sponsor for this visit, returns for his second Open Cockpit Day for a meet and greet with visitors. During this National Spirit of ’45 weekend, the exhibit “They Answered the Call” is open for visitors to discover Middle River’s role in World War II. The last bus to the airplanes departs at 12pm. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children. This event, held with the support of the Citizens of Baltimore County, also marks the closing of the Museum’s 2018 outdoor flea market open 8am to 1pm and available free to all shoppers. Located at Martin State Airport, 701 Wilson Point Road 21220, the Museum is celebrating 25 years of being open to the public. For more information, call 410-682-6122.
