Delegate Ric Metzgar (R-6) is offering Delegate Scholarships for students who live in the Sixth Legislative District (Dundalk, Essex, Edgemere, Fort Howard, and Rosedale) for the 2020-21 School Year.

The State of Maryland mandates certain requirements and each Delegate establishes his/her own criteria for awarding delegate scholarships.

Parents and students must be Maryland residents. Students must enroll in a Maryland college or university as a full-time or part-time student seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree. All majors are eligible for consideration.

Delegate Metzgar has assembled a Scholarship Committee from various backgrounds and occupations. Scholarships are very competitive. The Scholarship Committee uses academic achievement, extracurricular activities, career goals, community involvement, and financial need, and if he/she is the first one in family to attend college as criteria for awarding scholarships.

March 1 is the deadline for filing for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and March 15 is the deadline for filing for Del. Metzgar’s Scholarship.
