Your Nov. 14 issue calls into question your editorial choices for Dundalk’s “community” newspaper.

The front page shows the same tired photo of people standing around a check written to charity, in this case $30,000 from corporate monolith Amazon. Back on page 6, we read about a single Dundalk resident who has contributed and raised eleven times that amount for local education.

The headline on the front page touts Amazon’s $30,000 but it isn’t until the next-to-last paragraph on page six that we learn the magnitude of one local person’s efforts, resulting in $336,000 for community colleges.

For Seattle-headquartered Amazon $30,000 is pocket change, but $336,000 from one man who lives in Dundalk is a remarkable achievement. Both should be thanked, but it is clear that the man who lives and works here was much more newsworthy to local readers.
