The Patapsco High School Alumni Association is sponsoring its 10th Annual Patapsco Sports Hall of Fame Induction Bull and Shrimp Roast on April 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Rosedale Gardens.
The 2018 induction class includes the following alumni ranging from the first graduating class of 1965 to the 1990’s:
Donald Brady, Joey Bucher, John Czawlytko, Bob Hanlin, Brandi Vanmeter Lopez, Dion Orlando, Bob Seifert, Sheila Weaver Weber, and Robin Zukowski Wiseman.
The recipients of the individual awards for this year are:
Vicky Gusilatar Carpenter, Patriots Award; Tom Kimbel, the Timothy P. Hartzell Award; and Terry Patterson Ketchum, the David Greenwood Spirit Award.
The Patapsco Sports Hall of Fame also offers scholarships to senior student-athletes at Patapsco High School, and these winners are recognized on April 21st.
There are four different scholarships available this year: the George Antonas scholarship for a male student-athlete; the Betty Edwards Scholarship for a female student-athlete; the Timothy P. Hartzell Soccer Scholarship (female or male student-athlete) provided by the Hartzell family and friends, and the new new Lonnie James Nelson Memorial Scholarship for a senior male and female Soccer and Basketball student-athlete or dual sport student-athlete for at least two years at Patapsco.
This scholarship is provided by the Nelson family in memory of Lonnie, who passed away last year and was a key figure in creating the Patapsco High Alumni Sports Hall of Fame.
