Samantha Gamble won the Class 2A Central region high jump championship to help lead the Sparrows Point girls to a fourth-place finish overall on Monday at the Fifth Regiment Armory.
Gamble, who finished second in the county championships last week, cleared 4-10 to win the regional title.
Taliah Mott took fifth place withg a height of 4-4.
Macy Gerbes earned three medals for Sparrows Point, taking second place in the 3,200 meters (12:37.52), an third place in both the 800 (2:40.15) and 1,600 (4:42.31) meters.
The 800 relay of Natalia Roane, Mott, Gamble and Karen Fritges took fifth place with a time of 2:00.74.
Kayla Campbell finished seventh in the shotput with a distance of 24-1, while Emmaly Dingus was seventh (16:14.28) and Marian Ambrosino eighth (16:56.30), respectively, in the 3,200 meters.
Guinivere Roberts of Carver A&T defeated Gerbes in the 3,200 meters with a time of 12:28.23.
Harford Tech won the team title over North Harford, 135-83.5.
Carver A&T was third with 78 points, followed by Sparrows Point (42.5), Digital Harbor (36), Fallston (33), New Town (24), Randallstown (20), Eastern tech (14) and Overlea (12).
Milford Mill won the boys team title over Harford Tech, 127.5 to 72. Digital Harbor was third with 59.5 points.
Sparrows Point scored 9.5 points to finish in 11th place.
Christopher Kvech finished third in the high jump, clearing 5-2, while Tyler Brenner was fourth in the shotput with a distance of 39-3.5.
Dundalk fell to 3-6 with a 48-21 loss to visiting Franklin on Thursday.
Every Owl loss was by a pin or forfeit, making it difficult to keep pace with a strong Indians’ squad.
Ali Obaid won a 14-8 decision for Dundalk at 120 pounds. Franklin also forfeited three weight classes.
Patapsco won at Chesapeake 30-27 on January 28 for its third win of the season.
Patapsco kept Sparrows Point winless with a 35-30 win over the visiting Pointers on January 29.
The Patriots led 30-19 with four minutes remaining before a Pointer surge made the last minute interesting.
Patapsco (3-8) lost at Hereford on Friday 53-13 and will host Milford Mill this Friday.
Sparrows Point (0-13) lost at New Town on Friday 61-19 and was to host Dundalk (0-13) on Wednesday in a matchup of teams searching for their first win.
