Rhianna Stitt of Sparrows Point won the Baltimore County golf championship for the fourth year in a row and then took fourth in the Class 1A/2A state tournament.

Sparrows Point senior Rhianna Stitt capped off her superlative high school golf career by winning the Baltimore County championship for the fourth year in a row and then finished fourth in the state championship tournament.

Stitt shot an 88 in the semifinals and 85 in the finals for a total score of 173. The tournament was held on Nov. 4 at the University of Maryland.

Paula Moon of Patterson Mill won the title, shooting a 159, followed by Elizabeth Tucci of Oakdale with a 165 and Linganore’s Payton Smith with a 170.

Stitt shot an 88 in winning the Baltimore County title, and an 80 while medaling in the District VI tournament at Fox Hollow.

Cross country

Macy Gerbes, a junior at Sparrows Point, finished in 29th place at the Class 2A cross country championships on Saturday at Hereford High.

Gerbes, who missed the majority of the season with an injury before returning to finish second in the Class 2A North Region meet, had a time of 21:32.62.

Also finishing for Sparrows Point was Molly Shelly (81st, 23:47.95). The Pointers did not qualify as a team for the state meet.

Elizabeth Stanley of Dundalk, competing as an individual, finished 85th in the Class 3A girls state championship meet with a time of 22:25.86.

Chris Demski of Sparrows Point, also competing as an individual, finished in 100th place at the Class 2A boys state championship meet. He had a time of 19:34.42.

Oakdale defeated Liberty for the Class 2A boys state team title, 63-98. Century was third with 127 points, followed by Harford Tech, 158; South Carroll, 159, Fallston 171; Poolesville 210; North harford 220; Glenelg 238; and Kent Island 254.

Carver A&T was the top-finishing Baltimore County school, in 15th place with 387 points.

Liberty won the Class 2A girls championship over Middletown, 44-74. South Carroll was third with 109 points, followed by Calvert 121; Boonsboro 131; Kent Island 132; Poolesville 176; Oakdale 201; Patuxent 260; and Carver A&T 276.

River Hill won the Class 3A boys title, beating Centennial 70-103. Towson was third with 130 points, followed by C. Milton Wright 168; Mount Hebron 200; Bel Air 267; Atholton 283; Marriotts Ridge 284; North Point 285; and Hereford 318.

In Class 3A girls, Northern edged Bel Air 82-86. Hereford took third with 115 points, followed by Towson 150; Centennial 179; Huntingtown 197; River Hill 240; Atholton 250; Edgewood 261; and Reservoir 262.
